A woman and her 14-year-old daughter were killed Tuesday morning in the Portland neighborhood, police said.
Around 10 Louisville Metro police cars responded to the 3900 block of Miami Avenue, a residential street lined with homes just outside of Shawnee, just after 10 a.m.
When they arrived, they found the two dead.
Police later said they arrested 24-year-old Tobias Malone. He is charged with two counts of murder (domestic violence) and tampering with physical evidence.
According to court records, Malone admitted to shooting the mother and daughter. He also told police he destroyed the woman’s cellphone and dismantled the gun he used before throwing it out of a car window.
The cause of their deaths was not immediately available.
