Celebrations are planned today in Marshall and Hallsville to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday.
The Harrison County America 250 nonprofit organization is sponsoring today’s Freedom Fest in Marshall.
The festival will kick off at 3:30 p.m. with a parade through downtown Marshall. Welcoming remarks will follow the parade, and musical performances will start at 5 p.m. Performances will include the Hall Brothers, Sombra Eterna and special guest Roger Creager.
The celebration’s finale will include the “Roar Over Texas” drone show. ocal food and drink vendors will also be available.
In Hallsville, activities are planned today at Rise and Shine Hills, 15127 FM 2625.
The farm’s monthly vendor market will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Some of the vendors for the markets include Nana B’s Cookies, Jr’s Magic Meats, FairBird Design Studio, Busy B’s Bakery, Little Blessings Sourdough, Southern Gals Popcorn and more.
A firework display will illuminate the farm to end the night.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit.
