VinFast India is celebrating a new production milestone with the rollout of the 10,000th vehicle from its manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The achievement comes less than a year after production began in India.
The Vietnamese EV maker made its foray into the Indian market with the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. It expanded its product lineup to include the VF MPV 7 in April this year.
VinFast’s Tamil Nadu plant is the brand’s first manufacturing unit outside Vietnam. The facility is spread across 400 acres and includes a body shop, paint shop, assembly shop, a quality control centre and logistics hub. It has an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, scalable up to 1,50,000 units.
The carmaker has plans to expand its production base in India to support export markets and increase localisation.
