GENMA Solutions has shipped three large grab ship unloaders to Adani Group in India, without specifying the destination port. The equipment is aimed at boosting bulk cargo handling capacity at the receiving terminal.
The three units form part of a 14-unit order secured by GENMA last July, which includes twelve 1,500 t/h and two 2,000 t/h grab ship unloaders. All equipment is manufactured by Nantong Rainbow Heavy Machineries.
GENMA said its grab ship unloaders are designed for high-efficiency coal and iron ore discharge on vessels ranging from 70,000 to 240,000 DWT. They are equipped with auto-positioning and synchronised hoisting systems. In addition, the cranes feature dual-mode operation using both grab and hook/headblock functions, allowing lifting of steel plates, pipes and general cargo, and bulk material shiploading using either a grab or a headblock and a container rotating spreader.
Genma has earlier supplied two mobile harbour cranes (MHCs) for Adani’s recently inaugurated Haldia Bulk Terminal (HBT) at the Haldia Dock Complex in Kolkata. The terminal, located on the Hooghly River, features direct rail connectivity, enabling cargo to be transferred from ship to rail without intermediate handling. It is equipped to handle imported coal and other dry bulk commodities. Adani operates bulk-handling terminals across India, including Mundra, Tuna, Dahej, Hazira, Dighi, Mormugao, Dhamra, Gopalpur, Krishnapatnam, Gangavaram, Kattupalli, Karaikal, Ennore and Haldia.
In a separate announcement, GENMA said it shipped an offshore bulk transhipment system and two 100-tonne intelligent offshore transhipment cranes from Shanghai to West Africa for an unnamed customer and port. The equipment is intended to support mineral export operations by enabling continuous ship-to-ship transfer in deep water, acting as a floating terminal solution for vessels unable to access shallow ports.
