A major breakthrough has emerged in the murder case of international para-athlete Chirag Tyagi in Ghaziabad. Chirag’s body was recovered from the Sai Upvan area, with police finding serious injury marks on his body. After an investigation, police arrested fellow para-athlete Yash Khatik, who is also a participant in the blind category. According to police, Yash allegedly killed Chirag out of revenge after Chirag had filed complaints regarding irregularities in Yash’s documents during a sports qualification process. The complaint reportedly led to the cancellation of Yash’s qualification, causing resentment between the two athletes. Investigators believe Yash shot Chirag with a pistol and are currently searching for the weapon. Police are also examining CCTV footage and investigating whether any other individuals were involved in the crime. A murder case has been registered based on the family’s complaint. Chirag was a rising athlete who had recently won gold in the 400-meter event and had qualified for the upcoming Asian Games in Japan.
