Huawei kept on enhancing Chinese smartphones with new software releases, and in the latest edition, the company has surprised the 2019’s most popular flagship phone, the Huawei P30 Pro, with a new update.
The P30 Pro made its debut with EMUI 9 (Android 9) and was upgraded to EMUI 10, EMUI 11, and EMUI 12. However, in China, the phone jumped to HarmonyOS in 2021; since then, it has been equipped with HarmonyOS 3 (2022) and 4 (2023). This is when the phone stopped getting new updates.
However, Huawei recently greeted the P30 Pro users with a new HarmonyOS update, which primarily optimizes the user experience and performance in some scenarios. In terms of version, it is getting HarmonyOS 4.0.0.122 over 121.
This shows how the company is still thinking of old smartphone users and keeps on pushing new updates to ensure an optimum user experience. Unfortunately, the update is not available for global users, which is kind of a bummer.
The P30 Pro stands as the pinnacle of smartphone photography; the phone not only sold in China, but its popularity crossed continents due to the first-ever four-camera setup. The camera quality is beyond any competition, and on top of that, the company has used the first-ever periscope zoom module to offer immense zooming capacity to users.
On the other hand, the device offers a unique gradient color scheme, which started a design trend in the smartphone industry, later adopted by the likes of Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and more. Furthermore, it has a large battery with 40W super fast charging and a 6.47-inch OLED curved-edge screen with a 32MP front camera.
The phone sold millions of units across the world, and it’s the last Google Mobile Services (GMS) certified product with Play Store access.
