US-Iran tensions escalate after downs hovering Apache near Hormuz – Muslim Network TV

WASHINGTON (MNTV) — US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran shot down a US Apache helicopter operating near the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Washington will respond to the incident, further intensifying already volatile tensions in the Gulf region.
According to Trump, the helicopter was conducting patrol operations over the strategic waterway when it was allegedly targeted. He said the two crew members on board survived and were in stable condition.
US Central Command reported that the AH-64 Apache went down near the coast of Oman, with early statements indicating the personnel were rescued using a US Navy autonomous surface vessel deployed in the area.
The incident comes at a time of heightened instability in the region, where overlapping military operations by multiple actors have significantly increased the risk of escalation in one of the world’s most sensitive maritime corridors.
The presence of US military aircraft conducting operations close to Iranian and Omani waters has drawn renewed scrutiny, raising questions about the scope and coordination of foreign military activity in an already congested and politically fragile environment.
The US military has stated that the cause of the crash remains under investigation, while differing accounts of the incident’s circumstances have added to uncertainty surrounding what exactly occurred in the area.
The episode further complicates already strained regional dynamics, as diplomatic efforts to stabilize the Gulf continue to face repeated setbacks amid ongoing confrontations involving multiple regional and international powers.
Critics argue that continued military deployments by external powers in contested waterways risk deepening instability rather than containing it, particularly in strategic chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz.
Authorities have not released conclusive evidence confirming responsibility for the incident, while investigations are ongoing.
