KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The city once again found itself in the spotlight as a backdrop for another Hollywood production. This time, the cast of Ted Lasso is nowhere to be found.
The production gear returned to Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza, and fans spotted actor Terrence Howard on set. You may recognize him from both the small screen in “Empire” and the big screen in “Ironman.”
KCTV5’s Claire Decatur tracked down the star. He graciously took time to wave at her camera during a break.

Nearby trailers show the production is in Kansas City shooting a movie titled “Broken One” starring Howard. No other details about the movie are available … yet.
Several movies and TV shows have filmed in Kansas City over the past year. The most popular being Ted Lasso.
The show shot scenes for the upcoming season on the Country Club Plaza, Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs. It also took over restaurants like Gates Bar-B-Q to use in the new season.
Apple announced Ted Lasso will premiere August 5, 2026. The show’s official trailer shows Ted coaching a second-division women’s soccer team.
