The Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a shooting on Wednesday night.
Police responded to reports of shots fired near Williamson Road and Rockford Road in Lancaster County Park just after 6:30 p.m.
The scene was later determined to be within the City of Lancaster, and officers with the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched just before 7 p.m.
Upon arriving, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds.
One person was declared dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The condition of the hospitalized individual is currently unknown.
Authorities said, “There is no reason to believe there is any threat to the public at this time.”
Several police cars and two park ranger vehicles were observed at the scene, and officers were seen walking down the trail and back up.
