Roxanne Nathe
On May 29, 2026, our family unexpectedly said goodbye to Roxanne (Abbey) Nathe, a former resident of Dunkirk, following a sudden illness.
Roxanne was born on April 16, 1953, to Lucille Skozelas of Lackawanna, New York. She later moved to Dunkirk, where she resided for most of her life while raising her children. A proud member of the Dunkirk community, Roxanne took great pride in cheering on her two sons throughout the years as they participated in various sports teams and activities.
She was also fiercely devoted to her mother and sisters. In the late 1990s, she relocated to North Carolina to be closer to her family and began her career with the Fonville Morisey Real Estate School. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time at the beach with her beloved grandchildren.
Roxanne was a generous, hardworking, and kind-hearted soul whose warmth and unwavering love for her family touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher “Butch” (Jill) Krzyzanowicz and Jason (Melissa) Krzyzanowicz; her siblings, Peter (Sharon) Piehler of Dunkirk, Carolyn Kaczka of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, Robert (Marilee) Abbey of Silver Creek, Susan Lougee of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, and Patricia (Steve) Pawlak of Kinston, North Carolina; her three grandchildren, Keraghen, Karleigh, and Caleb Krzyzanowicz, all of Dunkirk; and her two great-grandchildren, KallieRae and Ashton Hazelton.
She is also survived by her niece, Aimee Lougee (Jason) Neary; her nephew, Corey (Kate) Piehler; as well as many cherished cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Roxanne was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Skozelas, and her brother, James Piehler.
A memorial gathering will be held later this summer in Dunkirk, New York.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Roxanne’s memory to a charity of your choice.
