Missing Burlington man found dead; death investigation underway, officers say – WXII

UPDATE: A man reported missing has been found dead, according to officers with the Burlington Police Department.
A death investigation is underway after Alvin Jeffers, 84, was found dead. Officers said a death investigation is standard practice in every unattended death.

ORIGINAL STORY: Officers with the Burlington Police Department are searching for a missing man.
Officers said Alvin Jeffers, 84, was last seen in the 2500 block of Oakcrest Court in Burlington. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
He was last seen in all-blue clothing.
Officers said Jeffers has dementia and is believed to be endangered. Officers said also believe Jeffers is still in the area.
Anyone with information about Jeffers’ whereabouts should contact the Burlington Police Department at 911 or the Burlington Police Department Communications Center at 336-229-3500.
