ST. LOUIS—Metro’s new fare system launches just after the fireworks do next month and transit officials want riders to be ready.
Information sessions are being held at specific Metro centers twice a day through July 2. Four days later, 13 Metro stations go live with the fare system on July 6.
Customers will pay their fare by using the Transit app or a Ticketing Vending Machine. When ready to pass the security gate to the MetroLink platform, the user validates their ticket by scanning a QR code on their app or on their Ride On card. Cards or passes without a code can tap the reader with their card.
The app is available to download via Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
Ride On Cards are available for purchase on-site at the station and then can be linked to your account at this Metro link and at this link you can add Tap & Ride balance.
For additional information on the fare system, visit the Metro’s website.
