MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – A special land use application from Blackrocks Brewery has been approved by the Marquette City Planning Commission.
Blackrocks Brewery is hoping to create a new outdoor space to take advantage of the numerous food trucks on Third Street in the summertime. The idea came from guests sitting outside during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Blackrocks Brewery is hoping to use the space not only for patrons to enjoy their food and drinks but also hopes to use the space in the future for other projects, such as an art market.
Blackrocks Brewery’s Co-Owner Andy Langlois says he understands concerns some of for potential noise coming from the new outdoor area, but he plans to be considerate to those nearby.
“Just because you’re a brewery doesn’t necessarily mean that you should be playing loud music until 11:05 at night,” Langlois said. “And we still have plenty of fun things going on without, and still finding a symbiotic way to live.”
Langlois says Blackrocks hopes to have the project completed in just a few weeks.
