Quentin Tarantino and Kylie Minogue have quietly teamed up for a new film from Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams.
The project, which remains untitled, marks another collaboration between Adams and Tarantino, who recently worked together on the Tribeca-premiering drama Only What We Carry. Per Variety, Tarantino will once again step in front of the camera rather than behind it, this time sharing the screen with Australia’s own Kylie Minogue.
Minogue is no stranger to the screen, with her role as Charlene in Australian soap Neighbours propelling her to stardom. Her film debut later came in 1989 with The Delinquents.
Details about the film are being kept tightly under wraps, but production is already underway. Tarantino and Minogue were spotted filming scenes in the Welsh seaside town of Porthcawl over the weekend, with local reports placing the pair at Newton Church and the Saltwater Inn for funeral and wake scenes.
The film is backed by New York-based Visor Entertainment, a company Adams is understood to have connected with during this year’s Tribeca Festival.
Adams has built a reputation for his fast-moving, improvisational filmmaking style, often drawing comparisons to the French New Wave.
His latest feature, Only What We Carry, brought together an eclectic cast including Simon Pegg, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Tarantino, with the filmmaker previously revealing how he convinced the Pulp Fiction director to take part. “Once you hear his voice, you’re transported. It’s like Disneyland for film-makers,” Adams said earlier this year.

The new film will also feature a number of Welsh actors, including Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell, Siwan Morris, and Karen Paullada. No release date, title or plot details have been announced.
