Oman’s Transport Ministry announced a temporary maritime corridor through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, established in coordination with the International Maritime Organization, enabling ships to transit at a greater distance from Iranian territorial waters than the IRGC-designated route.
Iran’s IRGC Navy swiftly rejected the alternative corridor, saying it had been announced “without informing or coordinating with the Islamic Republic of Iran” and warning that vessels using any route not designated by Iran risk being targeted.
“The only permitted corridor for transiting the Strait of Hormuz is the routes announced by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the IRGC said. “The transit of vessels outside these routes is very dangerous and prohibited. We warn that violators will be dealt with.” READ MORE FROM WEDNESDAY

The IDF said it killed six Hezbollah operatives in separate strikes Thursday after troops identified them as posing an immediate threat inside the security zone in southern Lebanon. According to the military, five operatives were spotted in Zawtar al-Sharqiya and another armed operative was identified near the Ali al-Taher Ridge. The IDF said ground forces and the Israeli Air Force carried out the strikes and that troops will continue operating in the area to prevent Hezbollah operatives from using underground tunnel networks.
