FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Scattered, locally heavy storms possible today – Atlanta News First

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A wetter weather pattern is moving into North Georgia, with rain chances climbing from Tuesday onward.
Expect the weather to calm a bit overnight with lows back into the low-to-mid 70s across North Georgia leading to a very muggy start to your work week.
Monday will bring relief from the active weather we’ve seen to close out the weekend. Drier and cooler air will move in, bringing a break from the heat and humidity. Highs will make it into the low to mid 80s.
Any showers or storms Monday will likely stay in Central to South Georgia. Expect mostly dry conditions — a nice day to get things done before the wet pattern takes over.
Tuesday is a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY and will see the first significant round of rain return, with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Plan for wet conditions during the commute and outdoor activities.
While Wednesday looks mostly dry, Thursday and Friday look to be the wettest days of the week. A system in the Gulf has the potential for development this week and could bring us some very heavy rain, even if it doesn’t ‘officially’ develop.
If you have outdoor plans Thursday or Friday evenings, have a backup plan ready.
