Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold held without bail, has hearing next week – Pride Of Detroit

Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold will spend the weekend in jail until a pretrial hearing on Monday.
On Thursday afternoon, Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold appeared in court virtually after he turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday night. Arnold is facing eight felony accounts in relation to an armed robbery case.
During the hearing, the charges were clarified from previous reports. Arnold faces three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to kidnap, and one count of conspiracy for armed robbery.
The judge ordered Arnold to remain in custody without bail over the weekend until a pre-trial detention hearing scheduled for Monday, June 29, at 9:30 a.m. ET.
“Mr. Arnold, because you’ve been arrested on six dangerous crimes under section 907.0415A, first-degree felonies categorized as dangerous crimes and punishable by life in prison, you are going to be held at no bond on those charges until we can have a hearing on the state’s motion for pre-trial detention,” Judge J. Logan Murphy announced at the arraignment.
Arnold continues to profess innocence in the allegations.
“He’s absolutely denying these allegations, and we’re asking to have a bond hearing as soon as possible,” Arnold’s attorney R. Timothy Jansen said during the hearing.
Arnold’s representation believes his arrest is based on the testimony of two other people charged with crimes in relation to the same incident after both made plea deals earlier in the week. Their request for the government to hand over copies of said testimony before Monday’s hearing was denied by the judge.
“You’re not entitled to any discovery before a pre-trial detention hearing,” Murphy responded. “If you’d like to re-raise that with the judge who’s handling the hearing, I’ll be happy to address that. I’m going to deny that request at this time.”
