Could rain impact today's England-Ghana match at Boston Stadium? – NBC Boston

As lingering showers clear overnight, Wednesday is expected to be comfortable with some breeze.
Copious amounts of rain fell on the South Coast this morning, triggering flash flooding.
From southeast Connecticut to southeastern Massachusetts, a line of showers and storms dropped a couple inches of rain in a couple of hours. That much rain, that fast was enough to bury cars in water from the tires down.

It wasn’t just southern New England. In Maine, some spots, like Kennebunkport and Old Orchard Beach, registered nearly 3 inches of rain.
Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands will need to be on alert for another batch of rain rolling through overnight. Given that the ground is saturated, it won’t take much to see further flooding.

Temperatures top out in the low 70s today but that happened earlier this morning. For the rest of the day, temperatures will stay stuck in the 60s with a muggy feel in the air.
We expect more rain later this afternoon. Your best bet is to grab an umbrella, especially if you’re headed to the England-Ghana match at Boston Stadium.
