Senior journalist Vijay Rawat has stepped down from the India Today Group after a long association of over nine years. At the time of his departure, he was serving as Executive Editor and was responsible for leading the group’s Hindi digital platform, aajtak.in. His last working day at the organisation was January 21.
Confirming the development in a conversation with Samachar4Media, Vijay Rawat said he has resigned from the group. He added that he is set to take up a new assignment at another well-known institution and will share further details in due course.
Vijay Rawat, originally from Gwalior, has over 25 years of experience in print and digital media, having played key roles in several major media organizations. He began his career in journalism as a staff reporter at Dainik Jagran, Gwalior. He then spent extensive time behind the desks of Haribhoomi, Rohtak, Amar Ujala, Noida, and Dainik Jagran, Noida.
In 2008, he joined the launch team of Network18’s Hindi website IBNKhabar (now News18 India) and spent over eight years there, serving in various capacities from copy editor to news editor.
In December 2016, he joined Aaj Tak Digital as an Assistant Editor and since then his journey continued in India Today Group, from where he has now resigned.
Vijay is a science graduate from Jiwaji University in Gwalior. He also holds a diploma in journalism from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University in Agra and an MA in journalism from Guru Jambheshwar University in Hisar.
