Bonnie Grace Curry (Shubert), aged 73, passed away on June 7, 2026 with her family by her side. Born on September 21, 1952, Bonnie dedicated her life to caring for others, both through her professional and personal endeavors.
Bonnie graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1970, later attending Monroe Community College and Alfred State College, where she pursued her passion for nursing. Her career was marked by her dedication as a surgical nurse at Buffalo General and Brooks Hospitals. She further specialized in orthopedics, working alongside Dr. James Cole at Lakeshore Orthopedic Group until her retirement.
In her personal life, Bonnie was a beloved figure in her family. She is survived by her children Chyneen Curry (Tony) of Torrington, CT, Robert (Tina) of Dunkirk, and Rachel (Matt) of North Tonawanda. Bonnie was also a cherished grandmother to Ryan Curry, Shelby and Rachel Kulinski, Mackenzie Curry, and Grace Roedel. Her siblings, Marcia (Nick) Roth of Williamsville, Gayle (Jim) Murphy of Fort Mill, SC, Patty Larson of Tucson, AZ, and Michael Shubert of Fredonia, will remember her fondly, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-grandsons.
Predeceased by her husband John Curry, after 38 wonderful years of marriage, and her parents, Dr. Roman and Ruth Shubert, Bonnie’s legacy of kindness and compassion remains a beacon for all who knew her.
Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family, playing board games, Euchre, and engaging in online games, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Bonnie’s life was a testament to her caring nature and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones and her profession. Her memory will be cherished and preserved in the hearts of those she touched.
