JW Marriott has appointed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as its Global Brand Ambassador, strengthening the luxury hospitality brand’s focus on wellness, mindful travel, and experiential luxury while reinforcing its long-term commitment to the rapidly growing Indian travel market.
The collaboration will see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play a central role in advancing JW Marriott’s global “Stay in the Moment” platform, a brand philosophy rooted in holistic well-being, purposeful travel, and meaningful guest experiences.
The appointment comes at a time when India is emerging as one of the world’s most influential luxury travel markets. According to Marriott International, Indian travellers are among the fastest-growing outbound luxury travel segments globally, while demand for premium domestic travel continues to rise, driven by increasing affluence, multigenerational travel, and a preference for experience-led hospitality.
JW Marriott currently operates more than 130 hotels worldwide, with India representing one of the brand’s most significant growth markets and development pipelines.
Commenting on the partnership, Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, JW Marriott, said, “Aishwarya’s global stature, warmth, and authenticity make her a natural embodiment of JW Marriott and an ideal partner for the brand. She brings a thoughtful, grounded presence that reflects the way our guests seek to travel – with intention and a sense of connection.”
As part of the collaboration, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will feature in global brand campaigns spanning digital, print, and film platforms. She will also participate in curated brand experiences across India and select international markets aimed at showcasing JW Marriott’s focus on reflection, connection, and intentional luxury.
For the hospitality sector, the move highlights a growing trend among luxury hotel brands to leverage influential cultural figures who embody the values of modern luxury travellers. Industry observers note that today’s affluent guests increasingly seek emotional connections, authenticity, wellness, and purpose-driven experiences rather than traditional luxury markers alone.
Speaking about the association, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said, “Travel has always been an important part of my life, both personally and professionally. The most meaningful experiences are often the quietest ones, when you are fully aware of where you are and who you are with. JW Marriott’s philosophy of being present and in the moment speaks to that awareness.”
The partnership also reflects Marriott International’s broader strategy to deepen engagement with Indian consumers and strengthen brand relevance across key international markets influenced by Indian travel demand.
With luxury travel continuing to evolve towards wellness, mindfulness, and experiential stays, JW Marriott’s latest brand association positions it to connect with a new generation of affluent travellers seeking purpose, presence, and meaningful hospitality experiences.
The announcement underscores the growing influence of India within the global luxury travel ecosystem and highlights the increasing role of cultural ambassadors in shaping hospitality brand narratives worldwide.
