June’s busy election calendar kicks off Tuesday with a slate of races that will determine nominees for the November midterms. These races have increasingly high stakes as the results of the November midterms could impact Republicans’ narrow majority in the chamber and come amid redistricting efforts across the country.
Up today: California, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota host primary races Tuesday, with an eye on U.S. Senate, House and gubernatorial elections. Follow Tuesday’s election updates with USA TODAY.
