The Summer season kicks into high gear on Apple TV with the release of a high-profile exclusive.
That exclusive is “Cape Fear,” a thriller television series starring Javier Bardem. A remake inspired by both the 1962 original film and Martin Scorsese‘s 1991 remake, this paces the scares across eight tension-filled episodes.
There’s worry this format may stretch the conceit too thin, but Bardem is a solid anchor nonetheless, and a worthy successor to Robert De Niro.
June presents another chance to catch more big names in Apple TV-only shows. “Sugar” Season 2 sees Colin Farrell reprise his role as an LA-based private investigator with odd ties to a vast alien network. This time he’s on the trail of a pro boxer’s missing brother.
The eight-episode season starts with a single episode, followed by new episodes dropping weekly every Friday through August 7.
Jon Hamm drama “Your Friends & Neighbors” rounds out the list of Apple TV must-sees this month. After debuting April 3, Season 2’s hugely anticipated finale drops June 5.
