“The measured strikes were carried out on Saturday and Sunday in response to Iran’s aggressive actions, which included the downing of a U.S. MQ-1 drone operating over international waters,” the statement said .
The US military claims that US fighter jets responded quickly, destroying Iranian air defense assets, a ground control station, and two kamikaze drones that “posed a clear threat to vessels passing through regional waters.”.
CENTCOM said that no American servicemen were injured.
At the same time, according to Reuters, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a strike on a US air base used for attacks on Iran.
The state-run KUNA news agency reported that air defenses were intercepting missile and drone attacks in Kuwait, where a large US base is located. Sirens sounded across the country.
