After finishing the season with a 52-7 record and winning the Big Ten Conference tournament, the Bruins were eager to get into the NCAA Tournament. They opened this hosted regional with a massive upset loss, 3-2 against Saint Mary’s. Easton Hawk pitched the last inning, allowing the game-winning earned run with a strikeout. After going straight to the elimination bracket, they took down Virginia Tech in dramatic fashion on Saturday to advance. Hawk bounced back and was credited with the win in the 6-5 victory. He still gave up one earned run on two hits in the ninth inning with two strikeouts.

The winner of the championship game will head to the NCAA Super Regionals next week.
