Sonata Software, NIIT and Xpro India featured among the leading volume gainers as trading activity accelerated sharply compared with their recent averages.

Mumbai, June 16: Sonata Software, NIIT, Xpro India and Rashi Peripherals emerged among the top volume gainers on Tuesday as several mid-cap and small-cap stocks witnessed a sharp increase in trading activity compared with their recent averages.
According to exchange data, technology, industrial, engineering and manufacturing stocks dominated the volume gainers list, reflecting broad-based investor participation across sectors.
The volume gainers list highlights stocks where trading volumes significantly exceeded their one-week average volumes, indicating heightened investor interest.
Technology counters remained among the standout performers.
Sonata Software share price surged 19.99% to ₹312.40, while NIIT gained 18.63%. Xpro India and Rashi Peripherals also recorded double-digit gains alongside elevated trading volumes.
The strong price action combined with unusually high turnover suggested aggressive accumulation in select technology and digital infrastructure plays.
Industrial and engineering stocks also witnessed robust participation.
Bharat Gears advanced 15.32%, while Concord Enviro Systems climbed 12.05%. Kalpataru Projects International gained 5.07%, supported by trading volumes well above historical averages.
Arvind SmartSpaces topped the volume expansion list, with trading activity nearly 179 times its weekly average volume.
Financial names delivered mixed performance despite higher-than-normal activity.
ESAF Small Finance Bank gained 7.22%, while General Insurance Corporation of India declined 7.97%, making it one of the few major underperformers on the volume gainers list.
The volume gainers list as of 4:00 PM IST on June 16, 2026 reflected strong investor participation in technology, engineering and industrial counters. Sonata Software, NIIT, Xpro India, Rashi Peripherals and Bharat Gears emerged among the key beneficiaries of the surge in trading volumes during the session.
