NEW YORK, United States (MNTV) – Tucker Carlson has declared that he will no longer support the Republican Party, a notable rupture between one of the party’s most influential media figures and an organization he once strongly defended.
Speaking on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, Carlson said he sees no path to supporting the GOP in future elections, arguing the party has moved beyond what he considers acceptable national loyalty.
He said he no longer aligns with either major party and was uncertain how he would vote.
Carlson, a prominent conservative commentator and a key media voice during the Trump era, framed the break as a moral decision rather than an ideological shift, presenting loyalty to the United States as a central condition for his support.
Given his long tenure in conservative media, including at Fox News, his departure is also a sign of fragmentation within the media ecosystem that has long backed Republican politics.
The break is closely tied to his opposition to recent U.S. foreign policy, particularly the military campaign against Iran.
He has accused the Trump administration of being influenced by pro-Israel interests in shaping its approach, a position at odds with mainstream Republican foreign policy.
By saying he will not vote Republican and suggesting others may follow, Carlson is signaling a potential shift among conservative voters who have historically treated party loyalty as a default identity.
The electoral impact is unclear, but his comments underscore divisions within the Republican coalition over foreign intervention and national identity.
