At the end of eight hours of counting of votes in Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is leading in 107 out 234 constituencies across the State, as of 4.00 p.m. on Monday (May 4, 2026). The DMK+ is leading in 68 seats, whereas the AIADMK-led alliance is leading in 51 seats, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has continued to maintain a significant margin in leads over the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), while also registering initial wins, as vote counting progresses for 293 seats in West Bengal. As the trends continued to pour in, TMC leaders termed the situation “fishy”, and urged caution in making claims of a landslide victory.
