Delhi Police has denied permission to Cockroach Janta Party to continue its protest at Jantar Mantar, even as party founder Abhijeet Dipke asserting that he will not move from the site until the education minister resigns. Police have asked CJP supporters to vacate the site where a large number of students and others have been demonstrating over alleged examination irregularities, repeated paper leaks and demands for accountability from the government. Heavy security arrangements were put in place across the national capital on Saturday (June 20, 2026) as the Cockroach Janta Party supporters gathered for the second protest at Jantar Mantar, with police deploying extensive surveillance and crowd-control measures, officials said.
A Mumbai sessions court on Saturday (June 20, 2026) acquitted all eight accused in the 2006 murder of former MLA Pawanraje Nimbalkar and his driver, citing a lack of credible evidence. Of the nine accused, one had turned an approver. The court pointed to multiple flaws in the CBI investigation, including unreliable witnesses, missing mobile phone records, and inconsistent statements. After Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to look into it, the CBI is slated to challenge this verdict in the Bombay High Court now.
After a NEET-UG aspirant from Nagpur was allotted a centre in Abu Dhabi for the re-examination on Sunday (June 21, 2026), the National Testing Agency (NTA) has said that its “web-activity records indicate that the city change in this case was made through the candidate’s own registered login during the open correction window”. “Despite that NTA has accorded to aspirant’s request and the change of centre was actioned,” it said in a post on on Saturday evening (June 20, 2026).

Bandi Sai Bageerath, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has been granted four-day interim bail in the POCSO case to appear for his BBA examinations on Saturday (June 20, 2026). Senior officials of the Cyberabad Police confirmed that the interim bail had been granted by the court and that Bageerath would be taken back into custody on June 25 after the completion of his examinations. “He will be appearing for three exams and will be back in the prison on the 25th,” said an official.
