Three workers died after allegedly inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning a septic tank at a factory in Delhi’s Mundka Industrial Area on Friday, according to police.
Delhi Police received a PCR call at Mundka Police Station on Friday afternoon reporting that three persons had fallen into the septic tank during the cleaning operation.
On arrival, the police learned that Marwah Printers had hired a man named Neeraj, a resident of Nangloi, to clean the septic tank located inside the factory premises in Gali No. 1, Mundka Industrial Area. Neeraj was cleaning the tank along with two other workers when the incident occurred, officials said.
The three deceased have been identified as Arun, Sandeep, and Chand, all residents of Indrajheel in Sultanpuri.
The bodies were recovered and taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mangolpuri for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death.
The Delhi Fire Service confirmed that the cause of death was due to inhalation of poisonous gas.
Police stated that appropriate legal action is being taken under relevant sections of the law and further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
