Texas Tech news: 5 Red Raiders make Senior Bowl, men’s basketball to face UCF Knights – Wreck'Em Red

Saturday is going to be a fascinating day for the Texas Tech Red Raiders for a couple of different reasons. One, the Red Raiders men’s basketball team is down in Orlando, Florida and prepared to play against the UCF Knights.
Two, a handful of some of the best Texas Tech football players from this past season are in Mobile, Alabama to compete and try to get even more NFL Draft attention than they have already so that they can potentially get a better spot in the NFL Draft.

Look, I don’t know how to say this in any way other than this at this specific moment, but Texas Tech truly can’t afford to overlook what the UCF Knights are doing. Yes, I get it, Grant McCasland’s Red Raiders are near the top of the Big 12 standings and need to keep winning to keep pace with the Arizona Wildcats, who are at the actual top.
But the Red Raiders have looked really solid this season (especially as of late) and have shown the sort of potential necessary to win at a high level down the stretch of this season. The Knights have been productive and could be a problem. We’ll see if Texas Tech can keep its winning streak rolling.
