TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – National Applied Research Laboratories said Thursday its Taiwan AI RAP (Resilient and high-performance AI Platform) and TAIDE (Trustworthy AI Dialogue Engine) enablement program is now open for applications.
It combines platform access, compute resources and talent development.
NARLabs said generative AI is rapidly spreading in business, education, and smart manufacturing, but many organizations still struggle to secure sufficient computing power, tools and deployment capabilities. The challenge, it said, is not just ideation but executing and integrating AI into real-world settings, per CNA.
The Taiwan AI RAP platform provides a one-stop environment integrating high-performance computing, development tools, model services, and fine-tuning and evaluation capabilities. Users can complete development, testing, and validation in a single workflow, reducing both time and costs.
The platform supports the TAIDE localized language model alongside major open-source LLMs, strengthening traditional Chinese processing and application performance. NARLabs said this enables use cases such as customer service, knowledge management and enterprise AI agents tailored to Taiwan’s market.
Approved applicants will receive compute credits worth NT$20,000 (US$620) for model development, fine-tuning, and application validation. NARLabs said the program is open to enterprises, academic institutions, and startups seeking to quickly launch AI projects.
Additional incentives allow teams to earn up to NT$200,000 (US$6,200) in compute resources through referrals and project deliverables. Promising applications may also receive co-marketing opportunities to expand cross-sector adoption and visibility.
NARLabs is also launching a hands-on workshop series themed “From GenAI to AI Agent,” in collaboration with partners including UnieAI, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University’s myPDA, Cameo and ShareGuru Intelligence Technologies. The sessions will focus on practical implementation, business applications and the use of TAIDE and other LLMs in operational settings.
The organization said generative AI is shifting from exploration to value creation. The goal is to accelerate digital transformation and cultivate more AI talent, per the Economic Daily News.
