WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – A storm that rolled through the North Country overnight knocked out power to thousands of National Grid customers across three counties, with reports of downed trees throughout Jefferson County.
As of Thursday morning, National Grid was reporting more than 100 outages across Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties, affecting more than 4,000 customers. Customers can track restoration progress using the National Grid outage map.
Video from Dexter showed the sky illuminated with lightning during the storm. Footage from Rutland captured a flagpole battered by wind gusts against a darkened sky. Additional video from the same area showed the storm moving overhead. Rooftop camera footage captured lightning bolts over downtown Watertown.
