Scattered showers and storms persist through the new week – News4JAX

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Showers and storms will be possible for the rest of the day with temperatures near 90 degrees. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty wind are possible within any storm.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s. An isolated shower or storm will be possible after sunset.
The heat and humidity will stick around on Monday as tropical moisture moves in from the south. It will be hot and humid with temperatures in the low to mid 90s.
Factoring in the humidity and temperatures in the 90s, it will feel like it’s around 100 to 105 degrees.
Scattered showers and storms will develop in the afternoon and evening. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty wind are possible within any storm.
Storms will remain scattered as we head into the middle of the week thanks a nearby front. Highs will be in the 90s, but the humidity will make temperatures feel like they are around 100 to 105 degrees.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects some improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to a severe drought which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement this week.

TUESDAY: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Rain & Storms. High 93, Low 75.
WEDNESDAY: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Rain & Storms. High 89, Low 76.
THURSDAY: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Rain & Storms. High 92, Low 78.
FRIDAY: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Isolated Rain & Storms. High 92, Low 78.
