Reliance Industries on Friday unveiled JioStar GenAI Media Studio (JAMS), an end-to-end, AI-native content production platform designed to transform content creation across the entire value chain—from ideation and storytelling to image generation, audio, video, and final production workflows.
Announcing the initiative at Reliance Industries' 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Akash Ambani said JAMS is aimed at fostering a new generation of creative technologists who can blend storytelling with artificial intelligence to create premium-quality content for audiences in India and globally.
"Through JAMS, we aim to nurture a new generation of creators who can combine storytelling with AI to produce world-class content. This philosophy has earned us the loyalty and trust of over 500 million users on JioHotstar," Ambani said.
The announcement comes as Reliance's media and entertainment business delivered a strong FY26 performance. JioStar, Jio Studios and Network18 together reported revenue of ₹34,917 crore ($3.7 billion), EBITDA of ₹5,842 crore ($616 million), and net profit of ₹3,434 crore ($362 million) during the fiscal year.
JioStar retained its position as India's largest television entertainment network, commanding a 34.7% viewership share—nearly equal to the combined share of the next three competitors. The network reaches 389 million viewers daily across genres and languages.
On the digital front, JioHotstar averaged 451 million monthly active users during FY26, making it one of the world's largest streaming platforms and the largest in India.
The platform also continued to set new benchmarks in live streaming. During India's victorious T20 World Cup campaign, JioHotstar recorded a world-record 72.5 million concurrent viewers in India. According to Ambani, nine of the ten highest global concurrency records are now held by JioHotstar.
The IPL 2026 season attracted more than 700 million viewers on the platform, highlighting the scale of Reliance's digital media ecosystem. JioHotstar also became the first Indian paid OTT platform to surpass one billion downloads and is now available on 99% of connected televisions across the country.
