Thousands of homeowners across San Benito are still dealing with last year’s storm damage, and a new state program from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) may be able to help.
State officials say demand is expected to exceed available funds and are urging residents to prepare now. On June 11, an in-person workshop at the Community Foundation Epicenter (440 San Benito St, Hollister, CA 95023) from 1-5pm will offer one-on-one help with applications.
A program lead at the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) can help residents with:
– Who qualifies and how eligibility is determined
– The importance of applying early
– Key steps homeowners should take now before applying
