Practice Report: Defensive Backs Tally Strong Performance on Day 2 of Minicamp – Baltimore Ravens

Early in 11-on-11 drills, quarterback Tyler Huntley fired a pass toward the right sideline as a wideout was coming back toward the ball. Cornerback Robert Longerbeam, who read the pass beautifully, knocked the ball away and got a rouse out of the Ravens’ sideline.
That play set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
While several quarterbacks and pass catchers had solid days, the defensive backs piled up pass breakups, especially during a seven-on-seven red zone drill:

Safety Keondre Jackson had one interception and nearly got a second. LaJohntay Wester pops with two long catches. Undrafted rookies shine on defense.
Nate Wiggins got an interception off Lamar Jackson, but Jackson had a strong day, which included a couple of connections with Devontez Walker.
Safety Jaylinn Hawkins continues to flash. A rookie wide receiver had two smooth, long catches.
Tyler Loop starts OTAs with a perfect day kicking. A cornerback who missed all last season returns with an interception.
Lamar Jackson is fine after leaving Ravens training camp practice early.
Aeneas Peebles blows up a run play while Mike Green flashes coverage skills with interception. Rashod Bateman takes an end-around to the house. DeAndre Hopkins returns to practice.
Beau Brade flashes his nose for the football with an interception and pass breakups. Broderick Washington Jr. showcases his pursuit while chasing down Zay Flowers.
Mike Green continues to win his pass rush battles. Reuben Lowery has strong day with two pass breakups. Ravens execute free kick to perfection.
DeAndre Hopkins shows he can still go deep with long touchdown catch. Trenton Simpson takes advantage of his athleticism.
Charlie Kolar continues to look sharp as the No. 2 tight end. Jackson and Rashod Bateman connect for chunk plays all over the field. Tyler Loop has a near-perfect day.
Chidobe Awuzie picked off Lamar Jackson in the final 11-on-11 period. Several backup wide receivers shined after limited preseason game action.
