On February 9 and 10, Facebook accounts (1; 2; 3), including a Facebook user who regularly spreads disinformation, Gocha Shakhulashvili (1; 2), posted a photo depicting President of the United States Donald Trump; the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton; and Jeffrey Epstein, who was indicted in sex trafficking. In the photo, the three are standing together, and in the background, there is a building that visually resembles a structure located on Epstein’s island. According to the accompanying description, the photo was taken in 2016.
The photo of Trump, Epstein, and Clinton is fake and was generated using artificial intelligence. According to an AI-detection tool, the photo was created using the Gemini model.
The circulated photo cannot be found in other open sources. It has not been published by reputable media outlets that frequently cover topics related to the Epstein case, including the released files (1; 2; 3).
The photo itself was generated using artificial intelligence, as evidenced by inaccuracies visible in the photo. Specifically, Bill Clinton’s right hand is deformed, and the joints of his fingers are unnaturally spaced. In addition, despite the photo being relatively high resolution, the hair of both Donald Trump and Bill Clinton appears noticeably blurry.
Furthermore, the building visible in the upper-left corner of the image is presumably meant to represent a structure located on Epstein’s island, but the buildings differ. Until 2017, the building on the island had a golden dome, while since 2017 it has had a flat roof. In the circulated image, the building has a different roof and is painted in gray and blue rather than white and blue.
The artificial nature of the photo is also confirmed by the AI detection tool Hive Moderation, which indicates that the image was likely created using the Gemini 3 AI model.
According to the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes and had no contact with Epstein for years prior to the public exposure of those crimes. In the newly released files, Trump is mentioned more than 1,000 times. Among the files is a document prepared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that compiles allegations of sexual harassment against Trump. There is no public evidence that the FBI found any of these allegations to be credible. In addition, Donald Trump has stated that he has never been to Epstein’s island.
The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, does not deny knowing Epstein but claims that he severed ties with him over the past two decades and was unaware of his crimes. Clinton is scheduled to testify before Congress on February 27.
