Person shot in Manchester; suspect at large, police say – WMUR

On Friday at around 9:30 p.m., Manchester police responded to Sunny’s Hot Chicken on Lake Avenue for a reported shooting.
When officers arrived, they learned that two men had an altercation inside the restaurant, and one pulled out a gun and shot the other. The victim left the restaurant and was found a short distance away in front of the Residence Inn on Lake Avenue.
The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and was immediately taken to a local hospital, where he is now in stable condition, officials say.
Traffic was blocked at the Chestnut Street intersection to Union Street during the investigation.
Thousands of people came to Manchester Friday for “Banana Ball” at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
The suspect was not at the scene when police arrived but turned himself in to Manchester police later that night. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Abdi Hassan of Manchester.
Hassan was charged with first-degree assault and attempted first-degree assault.
