The Ole Miss Rebels, the No. 18-ranked team in the country, will take the field against the No. 20-ranked team in the nation, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, in Game 3 of the Lincoln Regional in the College World Series on Saturday evening at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park in Lincoln, Nebraska. After finishing the season with a 43-15 record overall and losing in the semifinal game of the Big 10 Conference Tournament to Oregon, the Cornhuskers looked to snap back into their dominance in their hosted regional with a win over South Dakota State in the opening game on Friday. In that first game, Carson Jasa started the game and was credited with the win, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing one earned run on five hits with eight strikeouts. Dylan Carye and Jett Buck were both dynamic at the plate for Nebraska, both homered with an RBI, as two other players finished with an RBI as well in the 4-1 win.

The Rebels, who are 37-21 overall this season, ended the SEC Tournament with a loss in the first game against Missouri. In an effort to get back into a winning streak, Ole Miss took down Arizona State in Game 2 of the Lincoln Regional on Friday. Hudson Calhoun won his fourth game of the season in a 7-6 victory. He gave up zero earned runs over the final 3.2 innings with three strikeouts. At the plate, it was Judd Utermark and Tristan Bissetta who dominated. Each of them homered as Bissetta also batted in two runs in the win.
The winner of this game will head to the championship game of the Lincoln Regional. At the same time, the loser will go to the elimination bracket to face the winner of Arizona State and South Dakota State for a chance to go to the championship game from the losers’ bracket. The winner of the championship game will head to the NCAA Super Regionals next week.
