The National Institute of Technology – Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal, has won the Rajbhasha Shield and Certificate (first prize) in the Central Government Offices (over 50 employees) category at the 78th half-yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Mangaluru.
The award for 2025-26 recognises the implementation of Hindi as the official language.
Subhash C. Yaragal, Deputy Director, NIT-K, received the award from Nirmal Kumar Dubey, Deputy Director (Implementation), Regional Implementation Office (South), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bengaluru. Nikhitha, Hindi Officer of NIT-K, was also present, a NIT-K release said on Monday.
The institute’s non-teaching staff excelled in inter-office Hindi competitions. Nemma and Ashwitha won first prize in the dance competition, the institute secured second prize in Hindi typing, and Ingilela Mahesh, Deputy Registrar (Finance), won third prize in Chitra Katha, the release added.
