Police shoot carjacking suspect after bid to snatch Cop’s pistol
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police shot a 26-year-old carjacking suspect in the leg in Dwarka’s Baba Haridass Nagar after he allegedly tried to snatch an officer’s service pistol while fleeing arrest, police said. The accused, identified as Aakash from Najafgarh, was hospitalised. Police recovered evidence and launched a hunt for his associate. AAP leader Bharadwaj questioned the police action.
Juvenile apprehended for torching bike
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police apprehended a juvenile accused of setting a man’s motorcycle on fire in Adarsh Nagar after the owner refused to lend it for buying liquor. Police said the accused had been evading arrest and frequently changing locations. During surveillance, police found social media posts showing firearms and glorifying criminal activities. He was previously involved in five criminal cases.
