After winning the opener 6-3, Boston won Game 2 in a 6-1 final. Starter Payton Tolle got off to a tremendous start by sitting down the first 16 Yankees of the game. Tolle only gave up one hit in seven scoreless innings while striking out seven batters. New York was only able to score one run in the eighth inning on an RBI groundout from Austin Wells. Wilson Contreras hit a homer over the Monster, finishing with two RBIs on the day. Boston scored four runs throughout the first three innings and never really had to look back. If they can win today, it would likely be the biggest series win of the season for Boston amid a turbulent first half.
