The wait is over! Following a massive debut for its first season, the hit adaptation of Holly Jackson’s beloved YA mystery novels is back for its highly anticipated sophomore outing. Pip Fitz-Amobi is thrust into another gripping, twist-filled investigation that promises to keep you guessing until the very end. If you’re looking for a binge-worthy weekend mystery, look no further. I’m midway through the season right now, and while it’s not quite as strong as season 1, Emma Myers is an absolute star (most will know her for playing Enid in Wednesday).

Making its Netflix debut this week is Julia von Heinz’s touching and bittersweet road-trip movie, Treasure.
Starring Lena Dunham as a music journalist and the legendary Stephen Fry as her charmingly stubborn Holocaust survivor father, the film follows the duo on a tour through post-communist Poland as they attempt to uncover their family’s roots. It’s a poignant, beautifully acted dramedy that balances heavy themes with genuine laughs.

Genre: Comedy, Music | Runtime: 1h 44m
Grammy-winning musician Anderson .Paak makes his directorial debut (and stars) in this vibrant, infectious musical comedy. The story follows a washed-up drummer who travels to South Korea in a desperate bid to write for K-pop stars, only to discover that his long-lost son is the frontman of one of the country’s hottest new boy bands. Filled with great music and a lot of heart, it’s a fantastic, feel-good weekend watch.
Type: Movie
Genre: Crime, Thriller | Runtime: 1h 46m
Based on a shocking true story from 1977, this intense new crime thriller from acclaimed director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) has finally made its streaming debut on Netflix following its theatrical release just months ago.
It features a powerhouse, pulse-pounding performance from Bill Skarsgård, who stars as Tony Kiritsis—a desperate man who takes a mortgage broker (Dacre Montgomery) hostage using a sawed-off shotgun rigged to a “dead man’s wire” around his own neck. Co-starring Colman Domingo and Al Pacino, the film is a gritty, masterfully tense homage to 70s cinema. If you’re looking for a gripping, edge-of-your-seat watch this weekend, you absolutely cannot miss this one.

The Netflix Original doc The Crash continues to rule the movie charts, expanding its lead at #1 with an impressive 80 points. The animated sports flick Goat also continues to show tremendous staying power, holding firmly onto the #2 spot with 67 points.
We’ve got a couple of big climbers making waves in the middle of the pack. The 2007 Samuel L. Jackson crime thriller Cleaner surged to #3 (55 points), while the brand-new Netflix Original Ladies First made a solid debut right behind it at #4 (54 points). Families are also clearly gearing up for the weekend, with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie picking up steam in the bottom half of the top 10.

Over on the TV Series charts, the Duffer Brothers’ sci-fi series The Boroughs has successfully completed its climb to the top, dethroning Nemesis to claim the #1 spot with 77 points.
True crime and comedy continue to be reliable anchors for the platform, with Worst Ex Ever holding strong at #3 (57 points) and The Roast of Kevin Hart still pulling major numbers at #4 (47 points) weeks after its live premiere.
Further down, we can see several of this week’s new arrivals already starting to crack the top 10. Bad Thoughts made an impressive entrance at #7 (29 points), closely followed by Mating Season at #8 (23 points) and The Four Seasons at #9 (20 points). It’s also fun to see the F1 Canadian Grand Prix pop up on the board, showing that Netflix’s push into live sports continues to find a dedicated audience.
