Huo zhe yan (The Furious)

Who’s in it?

What’s it about? 
A father fights fiercely against ruthless kidnappers to save his abducted daughter.

The movie was filmed in and takes place in Bangkok.
Hungry
Directed by James Nunn.
Who’s in it?
Madison Davenport, Tracey Bonner and Joaquim de Almeida.
What’s it about? 
After becoming lost in the Louisiana swamplands, a group of holidaymakers must fight for their lives against a rampaging hippo on the loose.
Why watch it? 
A hippo thriller. 
Obsession
Directed by Curry Barker.
Who’s in it?
Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette and Cooper Tomlinson.
What’s it about? 
After breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.
Why watch it? 
Was shot for under US$1 million and was picked up by Focus Features for distribution for $15-million+ after a bidding war. 
Toy Story 5
Directed by McKenna Harris and Andrew Stanton.
Who’s in it?
The voices of Keanu Reeves, Tom Hanks and Annie Potts.
What’s it about? 
Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they’re introduced to electronics, a new threat to playtime.
Why watch it? 
Jeff Bergman and Anna Vocino have been cast as the new voices for the Potato Heads. Unused archive recordings of Don Rickles were used for Toy Story 4 (2019).

Cocktail 2
Directed by Homi Adajania.
Who’s in it?
Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor.
What’s it about? 
After a decade together, Diya and Kunal’s relationship is shaken when Ally, old friend re-enters their lives. What begins as a plan between two women spirals into chaos, triggering hilarious, emotional rollercoaster none of them saw coming

Maboroshi no hikari (Maborosi)

A young woman’s husband apparently commits suicide without warning or reason, leaving behind his wife and infant.
Why watch it? 
Hirokazu Koreeda’s directorial film debut.

Supergirl

Milly Alcock, Eve Ridley, Jason Momoa and Matthias Schoenaerts.
What’s it about? 
Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, joins forces with an unlikely companion on an interstellar journey of vengeance and justice when an unexpected adversary strikes too close to home.
Why watch it? 
This marks Jason Momoa’s return to DC as he previously played as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe from “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” (2016) to “Aquaman” and the “Lost Kingdom” (2023). He’s also been campaigning to play Lobo for years and when he first joined DC he thought he would’ve been offered the part but he was offered Aquaman instead.
