New Hampshire woman accused of firing gun into air, threatening neighbors – newscentermaine.com

NEW HAMPTON, New Hampshire — A New Hampshire woman is facing multiple charges, including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, after state police said she threatened neighbors and later fired a gun into the air Saturday evening.
Troopers with New Hampshire State Police Troop E first responded around 9:45 a.m. Saturday to reports of a suspicious person at a property on Waukewan Road in New Hampton, the agency said in a press release.

The woman was identified as 50-year-old Vanessa Cooke-Case of New Hampton and was served with a no-trespass order, according to police.
At about 4 p.m., troopers returned to the area after receiving reports that Cooke-Case was verbally threatening neighbors, the release stated. Police said troopers investigated the allegations and remained in the area following up on leads.
Around 8 p.m., troopers were called to a residence on Winona Road after receiving reports that Cooke-Case was firing a firearm into the air, according to the release.
Troopers responded and took Cooke-Case into custody without injury, police said. Authorities also secured the area and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Cooke-Case was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and felony criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, police said. She also faces misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, and simple assault, according to police.
She was being held on preventative detention at the Belknap County Jail pending a scheduled appearance Monday in Laconia District Court, the release stated.
Troopers were assisted by the Meredith Police Department, Center Harbor Police Department, and the Belknap County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation. New Hampshire State Police urge anyone with information to contact Trooper Thomas Seager.
