From new arrivals to notable goodbyes, Brevard County’s dining landscape kept shifting in May as fresh concepts opened across the Space Coast and a handful of familiar names disappeared.
Culvers | 4611 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne
The fast-casual restaurant chain best known for its burgers and frozen custard is now open on Wickham Road. The brand has a Midwest feel, offering comfort foods like cheese curds, crinkle-cut fries and sandwiches in a family-oriented setting.
A La Vie Cafe | 1 S. Orlando Ave., Cocoa Beach
Now open in Cocoa Beach, a true French-inspired concept to the barrier island dining scene. The cafe offers pastries and light fare, adding a European-style option for breakfast and casual dining.
Dutch Bros Coffee | 4530 Hickory Hill Blvd., Titusville
You want coffee, and fast? Head to Dutch Bros, this popular drive-thru coffee chain is known for its upbeat vibe, friendly “broista” service and creative menu of specialty drinks, from flavored coffees to energy drinks.
Fatburger | 2115 Viera Blvd., Rockledge
Fatburger has entered the Space Coast market as part of a broader expansion across Florida. The California-based chain is known for its cooked-to-order burgers, large sizes and even vegetarian options.
Grounds and Grapes | 297 W. Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach
Grounds and Grapes is now open, bringing a speakeasy-style concept that blends coffee, wine, small bites and entertainment to Cocoa Beach. The venue offers a cozy, social atmosphere that transitions from daytime café to an intimate evening hangout.
Margarita Island | 455 E. Eau Gallie Blvd., Indian Harbour Beach
Margarita Island has opened a new location beachside, marking the brand’s continued expansion across Brevard County. The restaurant highlights classic Mexican cuisine alongside its signature margaritas, offering a vibrant, casual dining experience.
Clayton’s Crab Company | 1230 U.S. 1, Rockledge
After more than 59 years in business, Clayton’s Crab Company has permanently closed. The longtime seafood market cited rising costs and economic pressures as reasons for shutting down.
Rebellion Wine Bar | 630 Brevard Ave., Cocoa
Rebellion Wine Bar will close its Cocoa Village location on May 30, a “bittersweet” decision after building a loyal following. Fans can still visit Rebellion Beachside Bar and Bistro at 26 N. Orlando Ave. in Cocoa Beach.
Bravo Taco | 1250 Garden St., Titusville
Bravo Taco closed on Cinco de Mayo, ending its run with a sold out evening. The owners thanked the community for years of memories and support. Fans can check out their other restaurants– Vine & Olive, Native Bar & Grill, Third Culture Kitchen and MoonLight Drive-In, all located in Titusville.
