The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series hits San Diego this weekend, and qualifying takes center stage later today (Saturday June 20).
It should be a fascinating battle for pole as the street course at Naval Base Coronado hosts NASCAR action for the first time.
Kiwi road course bully Shane van Gisbergen will start the session as the hottest of favorites to continue his domination of the sport’s premier series (away from ovals, that is).
There is also additional interest this weekend with former F1 star Kevin Magnussen racing for Trackhouse, and seven-time Cup Series king Jimmie Johnson also back in action after an impressive Truck Series run on Friday night.

NASCAR Cup Series qualifying from San Diego takes place today, Saturday, June 20th, at 2:30 p.m. ET.

NASCAR Cup Series San Diego qualifying schedule

Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series qualifying action from San Diego will not be broadcast live on traditional TV. Instead, it will be shown live on Prime Video.
