WLOS — The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Dam Safety Program is now accepting a second round of applications for its grant program.
More than $3 million in funds is available, according to a news release. The funds will go towards repairing dams that were damaged by Helene.

If funds still remain after the review of applications received by the closure of this second application period, a third application period will be opened at a future date, the release said.
Applications are available on the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's website.
Applications will close at 5 p.m. June 19. More information is also available by contacting the Department of Environmental Quality at 1-800-858-0368 or by email: damsafety@deq.nc.gov.
