⚽️ Countdown to Soccer World Championship 2026
Microsoft has introduced a new set of AI tools for educators and students and released the third edition of its annual AI in Education Report, which highlights growing AI adoption in schools and additional training preferences.
According to the report, more than half (58%) of education leaders said their schools are implementing or expanding AI use, while more than three-quarters of educators and school leaders reported increased AI use over the past year.
The report also found strong demand for AI education. While most educators, school leaders, and students believe AI skills will be important in the future, 77% of students and 53% of educators said they have not received formal AI training. Microsoft said many educators and students would like schools to offer ongoing AI training, while concerns about academic integrity underscore the need for clear classroom guidelines on responsible AI use.
To help address those needs, Microsoft announced several new AI-powered features for Microsoft 365 Education, including tools that help teachers create standards-aligned lesson plans, set classroom AI guidelines, manage live learning activities, and provide students with AI-supported study guides and interactive learning experiences.
Microsoft also announced expanded training opportunities through its Elevate for Educators program, including a free AI Literacy for Educators credential developed with ISTE + ASCD. Applications for the 2026-27 Educator Expert and Showcase School recognition programs will remain open through July 31.
